A little story about me...

I've always loved drawing and designing. None of this would have happened if it weren't for my husband believing in me and supporting me in embracing my creative side. I started a small stationery business called Savvy & Maisie. Years before that, I owned an online boutique called Mermaids & Magnolias Co., where I designed women’s t-shirts and gifts featuring my original artworks. It was such a fun and fulfilling experience for me, and I learned so much.

My mom used to own “The Whistle Stop Pottery” and contributed greatly to the downtown area of our hometown in South Georgia. In the first month after Mom opened her shop, she featured all the pottery I had painted as "Artist of the Month" in the front window. I know she was biased, but it meant the world to me. Some kids from my elementary school class excitedly shared how they visited my mom's shop, telling me they had fun and recognized my painted pottery. I felt as if I was on top of the world. Engaging in artistic pursuits has always been a passion of mine, especially when creating for those close to my heart. Thanks, Mama.

Looking back, I am thankful that God always gave me the space to escape happily whenever I drew or created something. If my designs on children’s apparel or stationery bring joy to other kids and their families during their celebrations, or if someone uses fabrics to make curtains or quilts for their loved ones at home, well, that would be more than I could ask for. I feel honored to have a small part in bringing any ounce of happiness to others. I have my daughters to thank for sparking that light in me to get this going!
